What Retroviruses do in Pregnancy - Health Supreme NewsGrabs 3 July 2011

What do retroviruses do when pregnant?

implantation.gif

Pregnant mothers are tested with special attention. And where they are found to be positive, they are told that a course of anti-retroviral drugs will be needed to try and protect the baby from becoming infected as well.

Now this all seems very logical, until you find out that in the normal course of every pregnancy, retroviruses are activated and that those retroviruses have an active role in the construction of new blood vessels that are needed to allow the growing fetus to survive and develop.

Could we be killing unborn babies by giving the mothers anti-retroviral drugs?

Comment: This is such a monstrous thing.

Knowing the vital role of retroviruses in pregnancy, doctors STILL insist on testing pregnant mothers for the presence of ... retroviruses, AND giving them toxic drugs if they are positive = healthy and pregnant!

Talk about genocide. African mothers are hardest hit. They often test positive (meaning they must have very healthy pregnancies)...

Criminals those doctors ... and the groups that are covering for the pharma makers and pushing ARVs.

Herbal Traditions in Trouble - An open letter to EU Commissioner Dalli

What became astoundingly obvious to the concerned parties present at the forum was the inadequacy of the answers provided by the European Commission representatives, Dr Andrzej Rys, Ms Figuerola Santos and Mr Francesco Carlucci. We are well aware that these representatives were “just doing their jobs”. But when it came to considering the implications of the Directive and its disproportionate impact on long-standing traditions of holistic healthcare, such as those embodied by southern and eastern Asian traditions, their answers were either non-existent or meagre. Even more worrying was the lack of any apparent interest by Ms Figuerola Santos in addressing possible solutions.

and...

It is apparent that the European Commission and the EMA must look urgently at resolving the situation for these systems of healthcare that are used by many millions of Europeans, and which are indigenous to well over one-third of the world’s population. The response from concurrent French, German and English petitions with over 1.1 million signatories between them, and from over 850,000 signatories to the Avaaz petition on herbal medicines, confirms a highly significant measure of citizen concern. Unfortunately, the European Commission’s lacklustre performance at Tuesday’s forum in the European Parliament has done nothing to suggest that the Commission is keen to resolve the unfolding crisis.

EU herbal directive 'a protectionist tool'

In an open letter to European commissioner John Dalli, Robert Verkerk, the alliance’s founder and scientific director wrote: “It seems that the criticism you now face in some quarters is down to the creation by the EU of what is effectively a protectionist tool; one which favours certain products of the European phytopharmaceutical system and discriminates against those of non-European traditional systems of medicine.”

Stevia based sweeteners slated for EU approval in November

Bringing industry up to date on the regulatory timeline, Wim Debeuckelaere from the Directorate General for Health and Consumers (DG Sanco) told delegates at the Stevia 2011 conference in London last week that the natural sweetener is on schedule for sanction by the EC in “November or December at the latest.”

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) gave a positive safety opinion on steviol glycosides in April 2010, in line with the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA), which approves the use of steviol glycosides at 95 per cent purity or above.

More than a decade ago, Stevia based sweetener was denied permission in the first test application for approval under the EU's "novel foods" legislation. Then, some years later, the food and drink multinationals (Coke, Pepsi, Cargill) decided it would be a good substitute for aspartame, which is getting a bad name with consumers.

It is amazing what some high power industry pressure will do for the approval of a herbal substance. All of a sudden the science changes, and everyone is in agreement...

What a pity that there is no such high power industry behind herbal medicine ... or behind nutritional supplements. Both are still struggling under the EU's efforts to show it can legislate even on complex subjects.

Diet Soda Linked To Weight Gain - again

A study presented at a American Diabetes Association meeting this week shows that drinking diet soda is associated with a wider waist in humans. And a second study shows that aspartame -- an artificial sweetener in diet soda -- actually raises blood sugar in mice prone to diabetes.

Gel that can help decayed teeth grow back could end fillings

The gel, which is being developed by scientists in France, works by prompting cells in teeth to start multiplying. They then form healthy new tooth tissue that gradually replaces what has been lost to decay.

Researchers say in lab studies it took just four weeks to restore teeth back to their original healthy state. The gel contains melanocyte-stimulating hormone, or MSH.

Chemist solves riddle of killer diseases

By creating a synthetic version of a Gram-positive bacterial endotoxin, Danish synthetic chemist Christian Marcus Pedersen has made a contribution that'll compel immune biologists to revise their textbooks. More importantly, he has paved the first steps of the way towards new and effective types of antibiotics.

"No one knew what substance Gram-positive bacteria released to make us sick. But because Pedersen can supply us with substances that are entirely pure, and have a known structure and composition, we are able to get a more precise answer as to why we show symptoms when these bacteria enter our body," explains Professor Zähringer.

Genetic Engineering May Have Created German E. Coli Outbreak

Horizontal gene transfer and recombination is a major route to creating new pathogens and spreading drug and antibiotic resistance. There is nothing natural about artificial genetic engineering, which has greatly expanded the scope and accelerated the rate of horizontal gene transfer and recombination. Furthermore, E. coli is the primary bacterium used in genetic engineering. Many new genes and combinations of genes were created and amplified and propagated in E. coli, because the original bacterium was harmless. In the process, genetic engineers have turned an original harmless bacterium into deadly pathogens. The problem is surely that even when you have killed the bacteria, the recombinant (genetic engineered) DNA survives, and can be transferred into living bacteria in the sewage, soil, and water to create new strains.

The Illusions of Psychiatry - Marcia Angell Reviews Psychiatry's Diagnostic Bible

In addition to the money spent on the psychiatric profession directly, drug companies heavily support many related patient advocacy groups and educational organizations. Whitaker writes that in the first quarter of 2009 alone,

Eli Lilly gave $551,000 to NAMI [National Alliance on Mental Illness] and its local chapters, $465,000 to the National Mental Health Association, $130,000 to CHADD (an ADHD [attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder] patient-advocacy group), and $69,250 to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

And that’s just one company in three months; one can imagine what the yearly total would be from all companies that make psychoactive drugs. These groups ostensibly exist to raise public awareness of psychiatric disorders, but they also have the effect of promoting the use of psychoactive drugs and influencing insurers to cover them.

Neurontin Killed Our Husbands

Adverse reactions to Neurontin have been greatly underestimated and unreported, Debbie Alsberge says she believes, harming unsuspecting families and their physicians. "We must have the full and accurate facts about a drug's risks to make good decisions when family members consider treatment, especially with psychoactive drugs. We cannot do that if pharmaceutical companies are allowed to taint the outcome of clinical trials and bury the harmful evidence."

Fetal Exposure to Common Epilepsy Drugs May Harm Kids' IQ

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Thursday advised doctors to warn women of childbearing age that fetal exposure to certain drugs used to control seizures or migraines appears to diminish intellectual abilities in offspring.

The drugs include so-called "valproate products" -- medications such as valproate sodium (Depacon), divalproex sodium (Depakote, Depakote CP, Depakote ER), valproic acid (Depakene, Stavzor), and their equivalent generic formulations, the FDA said in a statement.

Children born to women who take these medications during their pregnancy "have an increased risk of lower cognitive test scores than children exposed to other anti-seizure medications during pregnancy," the FDA said.

TOP PSYCHIATRIST TRASHES HIS WORK

So let us start here. There is a book called the DSM, and it is the bible of the profession. DSM stands for Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. In it are listed all the names and descriptions of these disorders. The latest edition, the DSM-4, offers no less than 297 separate psychiatric conditions.

How are the disorders discovered?

Medical Ghostwriting - Frequently Asked Questions

Corporate-funded medical ghostwriting continues to capture public interest and to concern physicians, patients, Congress, and professional organizations such as the Institute of Medicine.

Pharma Corruption: Are US military doctors being paid off?

In the wake of a recent settlement between Novo Nordisk and the US Department of Justice over charges the drugmaker illegally promoted its hemophilia drug to both civilian and military physicians, the US Army has reopened its own investigation into the episode and will now widen that effort to include “a systematic review of honoraria in the medical research environment.”

“Politically correct”: A statement, idea, or position based on, and backed up by, the engineering of a false consensus.

Alternative Cancer Cures That Work & Your Government Still Can’t Ban them From Use!

Within 72 hours of oxygen deprivation any cell will become cancerous. Cancer cells thrive in an oxygen-deprived environment. This will occur when bio-conductive aluminum (consisting of live virus, antibiotic, heavy metal, detergent coagulated sludge) clogs the vast network of arterial veins & capillaries, inducing Ischemia.

‘Oxygen–glucose deprivation resulted in expression of apoptotic and necrotic cell death phenotypes, especially in neurons.’ ‘Following 72 hours incubation in the presence of 0.3% O2, cells were labeled with Annexin V/PI and the level of cell death was measured by flow cytometry. In 6 independent experiments, hypoxia increased levels of Annexin V-positive OC316 cells from 5.3 % to 19.2 %.

Bitcoin, the Darknet Economy, and the Low Over-Head Revolution

Jason Calacanis and his colleagues at LAUNCH describe [the bitcoin "Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System] as "The Most Dangerous Project We've Ever Seen". Not only is it "the most dangerous open-source project ever created," but "possibly the most dangerous technological project since the Internet itself." It "could topple governments, destabilize economies and create uncontrollable global bazaars for contraband."

Here's how Falkvinge describes the ramifications:

{{The governments of the world are on the brink of losing the ability to look into the economy of their citizens. They stand to lose the ability to seize assets, they stand to lose the ability to collect debts. No application of force in the world is going to help: everything is encrypted, and destroying a computer with any amount of police firepower will accomplish zilch.

All the world’s weapons in all the world’s police hands are useless against the public’s ability to keep their cryptographic economy to themselves....

....The decentralized, uncontrollable economy where one lifetime employment is no longer central to every human being is something I’ve called the swarm economy, and I predict it will redefine society to an immensely larger extent than the ability to get rap music for free.}}

My comment: Although Bitcoin is far from perfect, it is a real innovation in economic matters because it is a currency that is beyond reach of governments. It is not created by a government or a bank, and it is not backed by anything of value, except the desire of people to own and use it. Bitcoin is the first real innovation in monetary matters since the British goldsmiths turned bankers discovered they could issue more certificates for gold than they had actual gold in their vaults.
