The Miscellaneous Writings of Dr. R.t. Trall, M.d: Compiled From Rare Books

The disease is the cure!

Warning!

"This truth, understood, will remove your belief in pills, potions and drugs.."
R.T. Trall, M.D.

This is such a basic truth, it bears pointing out and repeating over and over...

"It is also taught in all their schools and boks, that disease is an entity, a thing foreign to the living organism, and an enemy to the life-principle. The truth is exactly the contrary. Disease is the life-principle at war with an enemy. It is the defender and protector of the living organism. It is a process of purification. It is an effort to remove foreign and offensive materials from the system, and to repair the damages the vital machinery has sustained. It is a remedial effort. Disease therefore, is not a foe to be subdued, or "cured" or killed; but a friendly effort to be directed and regulated. And every attempt to cure or subdue disease with drug-poisons is nothing more nor less than a war on the human constitution."

One might add to this that microbes, rather than being the menace we have been making them out to be, may well be aiding in the cleansing process that is disease. I know this to be the case for the cold and flu, and I think it is the case for tuberculosis, but it may well be true for a number of other microbes ... perhaps even the vast majority of them.

Just think of diseases being the result of poisoning, or a nutrient imbalance. Would that not open the door to all kinds of healing and ... to the maintenance of a state of good health.

Parmenides and the Origins of Western Thought

Prof. Kingsley discusses the importance of Parmenides, the father of Western logic, and considers whether his wisdom could perhaps be brought to bear on Western medicine. I found the view on incubation especially interesting. It contrasts with our insistence that disease is caused by germs and that we have to either avoid or fight those germs to achieve healing. How things change with time.

In this interview, the Professor not only discusses the medical wisdom of the old Greeks and shamanism, but also the very foundations of Western Thought. There is even something for the skeptics, those supposedly impartial upholders of the scientific view who like to bash millennial healing arts and indeed anything that does not strictly follow Western scientific and 'rational' thought ....

Book uncovers truth behind big medicine's war against chiropractic care

According to investigative journalist and chiropractor J.C. Smith, M.A., D.C., back pain is a $100 billion industry in the United States. The author explains in "The Medical War Against Chiropractors: The Untold Story from Persecution to Vindication" how thousands of Americans are misled by M.D.s and are forced into risky and often ineffective - and painfully expensive - back surgeries that are based on a disproven disc theory.

He recounts the history of the war against chiropractors and explains the source of public skepticism that stemmed from one man who headed the American Medical Association (AMA) from 1924 to 1949, and was dubbed the "Medical Mussolini" by his contemporaries. This medical tyrant was responsible for the persecution of 12,000 chiropractors in the first half of the twentieth century.

Rights Train: A Forum for People Who Value Freedom

This is the start of something big!
We're going to make history by being a true grassroots organization that shows how to take on the big guys and win!

This is the gateway to a place of sharing, learning, collaborating, and communicating. We'll find ways to get our message across and get past the big money behind the glitzy ads and subtle manipulation used by the power-holders to control us and take our freedoms.

We'll organize, meet up, debate, collaborate, ideate, and get to know each other as we find solutions.

If you're serious about being involved with resisting the loss of our freedoms, this is the place for you. We're ordinary people, though from all walks of life. Some want to stay in the background. Some are becoming leaders. All are needed. Won't you please join us?

Comment by Heidi Stevenson:

I disagree with the entire concept of regulating medicinal herbs, except as they have been regulated before now, for contamination prevention and similar issues. No one has demonstrated that there's any legitimate reason to start regulation by the state! By what right does anyone claim the right to choose what medicinal herbs we can access? It is an abrogation of our rights!

That's why the campaign to Stop the Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products Directive does not end with May Day! It's just getting started.

To emphasize that, I've started a forum for activists. It's called Rights Train.

Are Vaccines Obsolete?

"The article in the Journal of Immunotoxicology is entitled 'Theoretical aspects of autism: Causes--A review.' The author is Helen Ratajczak, surprisingly herself a former senior scientist at a pharmaceutical firm.

Ratajczak's article states, in part, that "Documented causes of autism include genetic mutations and/or deletions, viral infections, and encephalitis [brain damage] following vaccination [emphasis added]. Therefore, autism is the result of genetic defects and/or inflammation of the brain." ...

A number of independent scientists have said they've been subjected to orchestrated campaigns to discredit them when their research exposed vaccine safety issues, especially if it veered into the topic of autism. We asked Ratajczak how she came to research the controversial topic. She told us that for years while working in the pharmaceutical industry, she was restricted as to what she was allowed to publish. "I'm retired now," she told CBS News. "I can write what I want."

... many government officials and scientists have implied that theories linking vaccines to autism have been disproven, and Ratajczak states that research shows otherwise.

Clinical Trial Deaths And Compensation In India

An investigation by India’s health ministry has found that drugmakers running clinical trials in the country have not compensated survivors of most volunteers who died during their studies. Of 671 deaths that were reported last year, there is evidence that compensation was given in just three cases, The Business Standard writes.

And so, the health ministry has asked 44 drugmakers to explain why they have not provided compensation, which is mandatory under the current law. Among those queried were Eli Lilly, Novartis, Pfizer, Bayer, Merck, Johnson & Johnson and Sanofi-Aventis.

Financial Ties Bind Medical Societies to Drug and Device Makers

Each year, groups like the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) take in millions of sponsorship dollars at their annual conventions from the makers of drugs and medical parts looking to gain more widespread use of their products. However, a ProPublica investigation reveals wide disparities in how much money the groups accept, what they disclose, how they manage conflicts of interest and often fail to note the health risks associated with using their products.

The story follows on the heels of the Dollars for Docs investigation from last year that showed how Big Pharma was paying doctors to promote drugs they had no specialized knowledge of and, in some cases, had been disciplined for past misconduct.

Major corporations changing statements on safety of fluorides

In a stunning development certain to gain the attention of risk managers at water utilities around the world, key toothpaste manufacturers and other organizations are changing how they portray the safety or risks of fluorides and water fluoridation.

Colgate-Palmolive is now selling an unfluoridated toothpaste for infants and toddlers. The label on the brightly colored, child-friendly packaging boldly states, “Fluoride-free. Safe if swallowed."

Orajel toothpaste is similarly now available as a toddler training toothpaste without fluoride. Information at the product website says it is “fluoride-free so it’s safe if swallowed when used as directed."

Video: Fluoride: The Hard to Swallow Truth Documentary

This short documentary looks at the initial theories behind the effectiveness of fluoride and where it originated. It goes on to show the lack of science behind the use of Fluoride and reveals Fluoride as a toxic waste substance that is being pumped into our drinking water. The documentary will conclude by delivering the "hard to swallow truth" of fluoride which pertains to why it is actually used.

Codex to Consider Labeling for Genetically Engineered Foods

The Codex Committee on Food Labeling will meet May 9–13 in Québec City, Canada, where members will review the Codex guidelines on labeling food. Among the items for review are the Codex labeling standards for genetically engineered foods.

Ghostwriting - more than just a medical problem?

However, ghostwriting happens every day in academic medicine, where prominent physicians sign their names to papers that were written by companies paid by Big Pharma. And very few blink an eye.

The reason? Leaders in medicine have allowed this pathological behavior to become established in their profession. It is now considered “normal.” But it must end.

At least half of all parents tried over shaken baby syndrome have been wrongly convicted, expert warns

‘I think the police are so put-out that they are trying to ban me from court. It’s why I would like Justice Secretary Kenneth Clarke to set up an inquiry into the methods police have used to deter expert witnesses who challenge old mainstream beliefs.
'This raises serious concerns that one side of the argument is not being heard and means there cannot be a fair trial.

‘If I am blocked from giving evidence in court, defendants already having to cope with the tragic death of a baby will not get the benefit of the new science. Equally, if the courts fail to accept that the mainstream view of 30 years ago can no longer be relied upon, there will be serious miscarriages of justice.’

There is a book that raises the serious question whether shaken baby syndrome is not misinterpreted vaccine damage - Encephalitis caused by vaccination.

The misery of tranquiliser addicts

Helen lay shaking and sobbing in the drug addiction detox unit. The 61-year-old businesswoman was racked with such excruciating pain she wasn’t sure she could survive it.
What’s so shocking is that unlike the other patients at the unit, who were struggling with heroin or cocaine addictions, the only drugs Helen had ever taken were the tranquillisers prescribed by her GP for depression and anxiety.

My Favorite Mistake: Stevie Nicks

The next six years were terrible. Looking back on it, I think this therapist was basically a groupie. He loved hearing stories of rock and roll and he started upping my dose. He watched me go from a beautiful, 125-pound, newly sober woman who had the world at her feet to a 170-pound woman who had the lights go out in her eyes.

Finally, in 1993, I’d had enough. I said, “Take me to a hospital.” I went in for 47 days, and it made Betty Ford look like a cakewalk. My hair turned gray and my skin molted. I could hardly walk. You can detox off heroin in 12 days. Coke is just a mental detox. But tranquilizers—they are dangerous. I was terrified to leave, and I came away knowing that that would never happen to me again.

Saving the HIV/AIDS hypothesis

Philosophy in general and philosophy of science in particular spent much effort on issues like, “Can a theory ever be proved beyond doubt?”; “Can empirical data ever prove a theory?”. On the whole, it was eventually agreed that no amount of empirical data could ever prove any theory beyond a shadow of doubt...

How cell phones may damage tissue

A way that cell-phone radio-frequency radiation could damage biological tissue has been identified by Bill Bruno, a theoretical biologist at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico.

He says that the traditional argument for cell phone and cell phone tower microwave safety only applies when the number of photons of radio-frequency energy is less than one in a volume of space equivalent to a cubic wavelength. When the density of photons is higher than this, other effects can come into play.

He points out that the density of microwave photons from cell phones and cell phone towers is many orders of magnitude higher than one per cubic wavelength, and urges caution in the way that safe dosage limits are determined.

Readers' Comments

I hoped Trall's book would be available on the Soil and Health library. However, when I tried to go there (http://www.soilandhealth.org/) I found out that the site isn't there any longer. Anyone knows what happened?

I just checked and the site is on line (again). Maybe it was just a temporary out... I did see a work of Trall in the library: Trall, J. R. The True Healing Art. Or, Hygienic vs. Drug Medication. http://www.soilandhealth.org/02/0201hyglibcat/0201hyglibcat.html
