Canada Knocks Out Flu - Health Supreme NewsGrabs Thursday, 24 June 2010

Canada Knocks Out Flu, U.S. Public Kept In The Dark
Compared on a per capita basis, the U.S. exhibits a stunning 3.2 times death rate over Canada, either pre-compromised health or not.

Since both countries promote flu vaccines, though declined by the large majority of citizens in both countries, and both exhibit similar flu rates, it is clear that Canada has essentially eliminated pediatric flu mortality, while something is terribly wrong in the U.S.

AVIAN-FLU--BIRD.jpg

In an effort to scare people into taking that vaccination, flu death rates have been hopelessly exaggerated, especially in the US, in the last decades. But with all the attention that flu deaths were under for the year 2009, it appears that it has become more difficult to fudge the numbers. Both the common flu and the "pandemic" variety together apparently caused LESS deaths last year than what is commonly claimed by the CDC every winter.

Vitamin D Health: Why You Shouldn't Shun the Sun
For the last 30 years or so, doctors (dermatologists in particular), health officials, beauty experts and many product companies have been demonizing the sun. They've told us to avoid it because without sunscreen, exposure to the sun's rays will damage skin and cause cancer. But this oversimplification distorts the facts. In the past few years, numerous studies have shown that optimizing your vitamin D levels may actually help prevent as many as 16 different types of cancer including pancreatic, lung, breast, ovarian, prostate and colon cancers. And the best way to optimize Vitamin D levels is through safe, smart and limited sunscreen-free exposure to the sun.

Vitamin D and Musculoskeletal Pain
It seems to me that looking at vitamin D in terms of musculoskeletal pain makes eminent sense as Dr Leavitt further comments,
"it appears that soothing the daily musculoskeletal aches and pains plaguing many patients may be as simple, well tolerated, and economical as taking a daily supplement of vitamin D. Experts have recommended that vitamin D inadequacy should be considered in the differential diagnosis of all patients with bone or joint pain, myalgia, fibromyalgia, or chronic fatigue syndrome [Shinchuk and Holick 2007]. However, this seems to be unknown or overlooked by many healthcare providers."

USA: Save Gen-M (Generation Monsanto)! Tell Congress to Label Genetically Modified Foods!
Gen-M, "Generation Monsanto," the first generation of humans force-fed genetically modified foods, hasn't reached reproductive age yet (they were born in the late 1990s). But, if a critical mass of animal feeding studies are any indication, the millennial generation, reared on Food Inc.'s unlabeled "Frankenfoods" can look forward to a long-term epidemic of cancer, food allergies, sterility, learning disabilities, and birth defects.

Global Food Security Act Promotes GMOs
Biotech corporations and mega-charities are promoting the GMO agenda as US foreign policy, and it must be stopped.
The US Global Food Security Act of 2009 (S. 384) sponsored by Richard Lugar (Indiana, Republican), Robert Casey (Pennsylvania, Democrat) and seven other US Senators in February 2009 is [1, 2] “A bill to authorize appropriations for fiscal years 2010 through 2014 to provide assistance to foreign countries to promote food security, to stimulate rural economies, and to improve emergency response to food crises, to amend the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, and for other purposes.”

However, the proposed amendment to the Foreign Assistance Act (FAA) of 1961 has proven controversial. It would “include research on biotechnological advances appropriate to local ecological conditions, including genetically modified technology.”

The bill is supported by the US land grant colleges as well as InterAction (American Council for Voluntary International Action) and its 26 member organizations including WWF, Oxfam, Bread for the World CARE, Save the Children, and ONE [3]. The bill was passed through the Senate foreign Relations Committee on 31 March 2009, and the Senate is expected to vote on it soon in 2010.

More Than A Pinprick - Vaccine Risk to India's Children
BABIES, THEY say, are a nice way to start people. They are also, it would appear, a nice way to start profit. If the babies are Indian, there’s added allure to the profit because there are so many of them every year. In the days to come, the Indian government is expected to make a fresh decision on the number of vaccines Indian infants are to be given soon after birth. Much rests on the decision for Indian families and, oddly, the World Health Organisation (WHO), which has made a bizarre push for new vaccines it wants Indian newborns to be given in the country’s public health programme.

Huge radiation risk: The hospital
Too much radiation raises the risk of cancer. That risk is growing because people in everyday situations are getting imaging tests far too often. Like the New Hampshire teen who was about to get a CT scan to check for kidney stones until a radiologist, Dr. Steven Birnbaum, discovered he'd already had 14 of these powerful X-rays for previous episodes. Adding up the total dose, "I was horrified" at the cancer risk it posed, Birnbaum said.

'Ireland's Erin Brockovich' and a €1m battle with the drugs industry
His story has parallels with that of Erin Brockovich, whose David-and-Goliath battle against a US energy company became the subject of a Hollywood film. But unlike the American legal clerk, Liam Grant is taking on a giant pharmaceutical company.

In 1996, Mr Grant's 19-year-old son, also called Liam, was prescribed Roaccutane, an acne drug. Formerly cheerful and outgoing, he soon became withdrawn and reclusive. Four months after he started taking the drug, he was found hanging from a tree outside Dublin. A jury delivered a verdict of suicide.

Vince Boehm coments:
Isotretinoin is marketed under various trade names, most commonly Roaccutane (Hoffman-La Roche; simply Accutane before July 2009), Amnesteem (Mylan), Claravis (Barr), Clarus (PremPharm), Decutan (Actavis), Isotane (Pacific Pharmaceuticals), Izotek (BlauFarma), Oratane (Genepharm Australasia), ISOTRET (Liva Healthcare Ltd.) or Sotret (Ranbaxy), while topical isotretinoin is most commonly marketed under the trade names Isotrex or Isotrexin (Stiefel)

This acne product is tightly controlled in the U.S. and the U.K. because of its many apparent psychiatric and other problems. Several studies have shown a link between isotretinoin and clinical depression. Psychiatrist Dr. Doug Bremner found decreased frontal lobe function on brain imaging in patients treated with Accutane (isotretinoin). Since the 1980s, scientific research has suggested a relationship between isotretinoin administration and the onset of psychological symptoms including depression, suicidal ideation, and psychosis.

Psychiatric drugs fuel flood of diagnoses
The dramatic growth in psychiatric diagnoses in children coincided with the development of new drugs and the expansion of indication of older medications.

These drugs are extremely profitable for the drug companies. How profitable?

In 2009, Pfizer was fined more than $2.3 billion for fraudulent marketing of several drugs. The biggest of these is a powerful anti-psychotic drug Geodon.

Their marketing of this (and other mental illness drugs) for unapproved indications (including the treatment of children) resulted in far more profits than they lost from the fines.

Tracking the American Epidemic of Mental Illness - Part IV
by Evelyn Pringle
As a main component of the Psychopharmaceutical Industrial Complex, the so-called "patient advocacy" organizations have become the leading force behind the American epidemic of mental illness over the past two decades.

Drug makers, and their foundations, funnel millions of dollars to these non-profits every year. In return, the leaders recruit their members as foot soldiers to carry out the latest marketing campaigns and to provide a fire-wall so that no money trail can be tracked back to the drug companies.

Who’s Minding the Drugstore?
FEDERAL regulators decided last year that a national television commercial promoting a drug called Prevacid was misleading viewers by failing to make clear that the medicine was for serious heartburn problems and not for occasional indigestion.

But the letter that regulators wrote to Tap Pharmaceutical Products, the maker of Prevacid, demanding that the ads be stopped, sat for 78 days in the offices of Daniel E. Troy, the chief counsel of the Food and Drug Administration, while millions of viewers continued to see the commercials.

Most Doctors Still Think It's Okay to Take Gifts From Big Pharma
A study soon to be published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, Archives of Surgery (JAMA) documents that most physicians still take gifts from pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers.

Mercury ... fillings ... deja vu
IAOMT is one of the groups that petitioned the FDA to re-examine the issue after the agency’s decision last year.

In agreeing to undertake a review, the agency said the “panel meeting will focus particularly on the potential risk to vulnerable populations, such as pregnant women, fetuses, and young children.” Public comments will be accepted through Dec. 3.

Japanese Mercury Safety Advocates Decry Deficient Gov Testing of Dolphin-Eating Citizens
Although many international studies show serious cardiac, neurological and developmental impacts from relatively low levels of mercury contamination, Japanese government doctors professed they could find nothing wrong with highly contaminated Taiji, Wakayama citizens who ate mercury-toxic dolphin meat. It is noteworthy that Japan's researchers avoided critical tests on children that led Faroe Island gov doctors to call for a total ban on cetacean consumption even though dolphin mercury levels are many times higher in Japan.

Quitting AIDS Drugs Is Hard to Do, and Hard Not To…
AIDS doctors call any illness that an AIDS patient has an “opportunistic infection.” These illnesses tend to be caused by weak molds and fungi that exist everywhere. One of the infections that defines AIDS is called PCP, or pneumocystic carinii pneumonia. Pneuomcystis carinii is a commonly occurring organism, appearing in the vast majority of human beings, but only causing disease in those who have severe immune suppression.
